About me
Hi there, and welcome!
I'm a full-time artist based in Bellingham, MA, and I'm so glad you"re here. For years, I worked in hairdressing and retail, but I always knew my true passion was oil painting. In 2013, I finally took the leap and haven't looked back since.
I am a painter of the quiet, everyday moments of farm life. My style, which I call relaxed realism, is a bridge between realism and the expressive freedom of a painterly hand. I want you to see the soul of the animal -the soft fur, the curious eyes- while also seeing the visible brushwork and deliberate, textured layers of paint that describe its form.
I am captivated by the buttery texture of oil paints and creating a conversation between thick and thin, transparent and opaque. I build up my work in layers, creating a vibrant dance between warm and cool tones. It is in this interplay of color, texture, and light that I find the most joy, capturing the simple beauty and enduring character of the farmhouse world.
